The art of Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian blend of martial art, game, and dance, originating in Central African martial arts from the regions now known as The Congo and Angola.
Participants take turns playing instruments, singing, and sparring in pairs in the center of the roda (circle).
Contra-Mestre Pitta began teaching Capoeira at
the ripe old age of 16. By 17, he had became the
Suburban Regional Capoeira Champion of Salvador.
Pitta believes Capoeira is a form of non-violence, the practice of which, offers inner peace and tranquility.
Pitta supports his students in understanding the essence of Capoeira and its great potential to create more harmonious ways of relating to the world in which we live.

...The drumming starts with a slow, sweet rhythm. We move our bodies, swaying and warming up. Then, we begin to accelerate, a little faster tempo, larger movements.
Playful and enlivening, the African choreography creates a nurturing environment to express ourselves. The combination of community and groovy African rhythms will satisfy your soul!

Boistfort Valley Farms is a community supported Agricultural Farm in Curtis Washington. They have delivered quality organic produce to their customers in the greater Seattle area since 1994. |
Last year Planet Earth Yoga Center was proud to become a local drop off site.
Recently during the heavy rains of December 2007, much of the farm was tragically flooded when the Stillman Creek overflowed it's banks, destroying ...
Well, pretty much everything.
